I've had some of my favorite Welcome Week crowds at Henderson State University, and I recently performed for the Batesville Chamber of Commerce and had a great time with that group. Campus programming in Arkansas runs on a narrow window — nearly every school in the state wants the same ten days in August, so the schools that book early get the date they actually want and everyone else takes what's left. Central Arkansas is an easy region to work in that respect: the schools and chambers here talk to each other, and a good show tends to turn into the next three bookings.
