The Room Requirements That Actually Decide It

Planners usually pick based on which show sounds better. Then we get on a call and the venue makes the decision for us.

Here is what I ask about, in order:

1. Is there a raised stage or platform? Hypnosis works far better elevated. In a flat room, only the front rows see the volunteers.
2. Can 15 to 20 armless chairs fit safely, spaced apart, away from edges and cables? If not, that decides it.
3. What are the sightlines? Round tables with people facing away hurt hypnosis more than mentalism.
4. Is dinner service finished before I start? Hypnosis needs a clean window. Mentalism can work around service.
5. How is the sound? Both need clear audio, but mentalism depends on it absolutely, since the impossible moments are verbal.
6. Can the audience see faces? A fully dark house hurts both formats and is worth fixing either way.

How This Plays Out by Market

The structure that works: a 20 to 30 minute mentalism set early, while people are still arriving or between courses, then the full hypnosis show after dinner service clears. Your audience gets two completely different experiences and you pay one travel booking.
