I've done a lot of work in Central Illinois, and what I like about it is the range: a keynote for the state lineman conference, a comedy hypnosis show for the state school nutrition conference, a combined keynote and show for Key Club of Eastern Iowa and Illinois, plus corporate events and high school assemblies around the region. Those are wildly different rooms — utility crews, school kitchen staff, and student leaders don't laugh at the same things — and getting all three right is the actual job. The Key Club booking is worth mentioning as a structure, too: a message-driven keynote and a comedy hypnosis show at the same event gives you substance and a payoff, and it costs less than bringing in two people.
