I've worked the Louisville area several times, including a comedy hypnosis fundraiser for an FFA group just outside the city — and fundraisers are where this show earns its keep, because people who laughed that hard give more freely on the way out. Kentucky also has some of the most distinctive event venues in the country: distilleries and horse farms that book out as event space, which gives a banquet here a sense of place you don't get in a hotel ballroom. Just know that the first week of May belongs to the Derby, and the whole region plans around it.
